Hill House is located in the beautiful, private and extensive grounds of Balnagown Estate, with the estate enjoying the relatively kind climate of the Cromarty Firth which is close by. And when we say ‘kind climate’, it certainly is when compared to the west coast some fifty miles away, as we receive on average just a third of the rainfall that they do!
Hill House is perfect for couples and families, and sleeps four adults in 2 double rooms, plus two small children in a bunk room. The property also comes with an elegant Coach House right next door, which sleeps a further two adults or older children in a twin bedroom. The interior of the property is stunning, with little expense spared on the furnishing and décor. Plus there’s broadband and satellite TV, so although you’re staying in a tranquil Highland location you’re still entirely in touch with the outside world.
Staying at Hill House allows you access across Balnagown Estate, which offers the added bonus of complete privacy and security because the grounds are only accessed via security controlled gates. This unusual level of privacy and security is because the estate also has within it Balnagown Castle – a private residence of the estate’s owner, Mr Mohamed Al Fayed.
Within the estate there is a wealth of things to do and enjoy:
- Private and safe roadways and tracks for cycling and walking
- Free use of cycles – so need to bring your own
- Trout fishing in a well-stocked loch and on the Balnagown River
- Free archery
- Clay pigeon shooting
- All sorts of wildlife including nesting Ospreys and Pine Martins in the woods
- A superbly equipped sports and games room which is free to use
- Wonderful and varied scenery
